Mattress Firm Foster Kids, through the Ticket to Dream Foundation™, a recognized 501(c)3 non-profit, was launched in December 2015 to make a positive impact on the lives of thousands of foster children in need. Our program is designed to provide both in-kind and monetary contributions to non-profit foster care organizations. Our purpose is to support worthy charitable causes and non-profits, with particular emphasis on charities related to foster children.
The U.S. foster care system is home to over 400,000 children, many of whom have entered the system with few or no possessions of their own. While foster parents are provided a stipend to cover basic needs, it is often not enough to cover all necessities. Additionally, foster parents can be grandparents or extended family members who also may need a little extra support. That’s where the Mattress Firm Foster Kids program comes in—to help fill the gap.
The Mattress Firm Foster Kids program has partnered with foster care organizations in the areas we serve to improve the lives of foster children. Through in-kind collection drives at participating stores and year-round, nationwide fundraising at all stores, Mattress Firm provides thousands of foster children with clothes, shoes, school supplies, holiday gifts and access to special childhood activities, such as summer camp, sports and music lessons.
For children who have lost their families and been separated from siblings, these donations can mean the world, helping to boost their self-esteem and giving them hope for a brighter future.
Please join us on our mission to help foster children beat the odds—our success depends on you! There are many ways to get involved and make a difference. Visit our Ways to Help page for resources and information about how you can host a collection drive in your community, donate online through our safe and secure site, spread the word to friends and family, and even start your own Personal Campaign on behalf of foster kids!
