Back to school shopping—fun, confidence building, and a classic end-of-summer outing. But with school shopping lists getting longer and longer, it can be challenging for foster families to provide all the needed supplies. And for foster kids who are moved to a new home unexpectedly, there’s often no time to shop.
That’s where we come in. With your help, local foster kids and families can get the school supplies they need as soon as they need them. Simple yet essential items such as a comfy new backpack, a box of sharp crayons or a colorful new binder can give foster children the confidence they need to make a fresh start at a new school.
We've made back to school shopping easy—download one of our grade-specific School Supply Wish Lists and take it shopping with you. Then drop your tax-deductible gift to a Mattress Firm location!

In the U.S., there are over 400,000 children living in foster care. If you live near one of our stores, hosting your own Mattress Firm Foster Kids donation drive is a great way to get involved. It’s an easy way to give back to your community while leaving the heavy lifting of planning and promotion to us!
Use our store locator to find Mattress Firm locations near you. If you don’t live near a Mattress Firm location, you can still place a safe and secure online donation, and your donation will be used to provide foster children with special programs and services.
We’re proud to announce that the Mattress Firm 2017 Pajama Drive collected 58,000 in-kind items for foster children! Thank you to all who donated and to those who hosted their own Pajama Drives.
Mattress Firm knows, not everyone can be a foster parent, but anyone can help a foster child.™
